Super Easy To Replace Spark Plugs on Acura MDX Honda Pilot Not hard with tools you probably have. Spark plugs are about $11 each and less than a half hour to do this. Pretty easy job.

Each Plug is the removal of one 10 mm nut and the plug. Tools needed are 10 mm socket and/or wrench, 5/8″ spark plug socket, 3″ and 5″ ratchet extension, 6 Bosch Iridium Spark Plug Manufacturer’s Part Number: 9619 and a stool to replace the back ones. This job is pretty simple. Wear gloves and remember to put the new plugs in with your hand and not a tool so you do not cross thread them. Also, make sure you are turning the ratchet the right way or you will snap the plugs off in the cylinder – this sounds simple, but I have had friends do this. There is different opinions on when you should change the plugs. If the plugs are $70 with tax, why not change them every 50 000km?
NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plug Manufacturer’s Part Number: ILZKR7B11S

Torque to 13 lbs. Do not over tighten.

  1. I see one problem, using those piece of junk Bosch spark plugs which I call garbage can plugs.Cause misfires a lot and see this a lot with Bosch spark plugs. The OEM plugs,NGKs are the only ones to use.

  2. Great Video thank you. A few things if you don't mind me adding. Make sure the engine is cold!!!! Use a universal joint right in between the spark plug socket and extension. On the rear of the motor right side the coil pack is somewhat being blocked by a hose that splits.(of course it has to split right on top of where you need to go.😕) . It's really tight there. Make sure you torque the plugs to about 10lbs if you have a torque wrench. Otherwise a half a turn more when it's tight should do it. To save a Lil more money guys on EBay I was able to get factory Honda Plugs specifically for this motor (laser cut iridium)for $30 bucks 😎. Thank you for all your help. Your video was dead on👍.

  3. I Have an 07 MDX that needs Spark Plugs changed. I received inspection report from my auto mechanic and it says "Valve adjust requires valve cover and plenum gasket " in the notes section for changing the Spark Plugs. This mean they need replacing too? or just need to be removed in order to access the spark plugs?
