Blake Vackar’s got a new living room folks. Because traditional projector placement was a big challenge for his new space, Sony came to the rescue with their new Sony GTZ1 ultra short throw 4K projector with 2000 lumens and Blue laser Phosphor technology. This projector is a perfect match for our 5 Series Short Throw (ST) screen which accepts projection from ultra show throw projectors that can be placed nearly up against the wall, saving space and installation headaches.

  1. That is a huge box to simply sit on the floor in front of the room and it could be costly if someone trips and falls on it or kicks it or bashed it with a vacuum cleaner.

  2. Why isn't there more budget 4K competition for Sony? All I know is a 4K from Sony hovering around 8K street. Everything else is fake 4K. JVC and others should be ashamed of selling their fake e-shift technology. Then there are people buying the new Samsung Ultra HD 4K player and crying there isn't much of a difference between their upscaling and 4K player. Well, if you're going to use a 65" TV, you're not using the right display device that 4K was meant for. Go big or go home. And right now, that only means Sony. I would prefer a JVC 4K unit based on their black level expertise.

  3. How can I use a 2.35:1 Black Diamond Screen with a short throw projector like this one? I was thinking about using a Panamorph lens but I don't imagine it would work on an ST.

  4. You haven’t seen sharp until you’ve seen 4K on SI screens. Black Diamond® material scatters less of the light that is reflected back from the projector essentially reducing fuzziness you would get because it is retaining the sharpness from the projector and source material. No other company on the market does this.

  5. i see replies to comments on pricing for homes. How is the resolution on those products? is it the same on say an LG one? I'm a huge LG products consumer.

  6. Hello, I like your channel! What projector would you recommend for a medium to small sized outdoor projection for say weddings or backyard gatherings in a commercial environment? I'm doing some research currently and would value your opinion. Thx

  7. That amblight-ish thing can be turned off or transform it into proper Ambilight full dynamics?, how does the laser projector works compared to LED DLP`s on that type of screen?

  8. hi I'm from the UK southwales looking at getting 106 zero edge I've looked in the link but it can't seem to find a store never me I live not far from Cardiff any help please ..

  9. It's cool, but way too big. Plus, it's on the ground. I guarantee if you have cats they're going to sleep on it. LOL Also, people might seriously trip over it unless it was elevated on a table, but then the screen would have to be too. It's good but better to wait for the price drop / physical size decrease / better light source to happen. LG has a nice short throw projector. It's not 4K just yet, but they've got the right direction on this.

  10. I don't like the 4k projector because it's on the floor it's in the way kids will play around it and trip and fall over it,it's bulky and it just looks out f place, great picture but if your like me,when you bring company over that's the first irrattating thing thier gonna see and thier going to be distracted by it,the 4K is a no no…

  11. What would a screen like that cost in a 100 inch dia. version? I think the newer set retails for $25K and is brighter. If the screen isn't too much that would give you 23" on a diagonal for not too much more that the current state-of-the-art OLED panel and thus be a relative bargain. You're right, it a great option for a must-use home like a large living room.

  12. Thats a lot of money for a room killer. It is right in the middle of the floor. Just does not go, I found it funny when he said you do not have to worry about walking in front of a light source and literally as he said that he is walking around the giant box in the middle of the walk way. Maybe if someone could integrate this into a nice credenza and not have it stick out like a sore thumb, I know for one my wife would never sign off on this for aesthetics purpose.

  13. Dear SI ,, Have you tried the DELL 4K LASER S718QL on your screen yet ? if yes, which material would you recommend using ? I am looking to get the SOLO Pro + the DELL 4K laser soon, how do you think it compares with the SONY LASER short throw ( I really like the DELL spec due to its brightness, ) thank you for your advice.
