  1. Erasing USB with GUID scheme makes UniBeast say "I need at least a usb of 7gb hfs-partitioned", but if I erase it with MBR scheme it detects it normally, does MBR erasing have any problem in the future ?

Note: my usb stick is 8gb

  2. I installed a new SSD in a late 2008 13" Macbook 5,1. I created a bootable USB following this video. When I restart and hold option to boot from the USB nothing happens (gray screen remains gray). When I insert this same USB into my newer (Mid 2011 MacBook Pro) MacBook and attempt to boot from USB it displays as a boot option.

I also have a bootable OSX 11.11 on different USB that shows as a boot option in the older MacBook (unfortunately that OS is too new and won't run on the old com) so I'm completely lost as to what the issue is. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

  3. How can i do this without the apple store file? u cant download el capitan on app store anymore and i have a perfectly working dmg file, but that command doesnt work plz help

  4. Hi.
I want to sell my macbook.
Given the fact that mac os el capitan I downloaded from apple store with my apple id – can I reinstall from the Bootable USB Flash Drive before selling? I mean, if my apple id stored in the downloaded mac os file somewhere?

  5. I have a simple question that I cant get a yes or no to. I have a flash drive with El Capitan already on it, & I installed it on my Macbook. It works great, my question is, can I use that same flash drive on a different Mac to instal El Capitan?

  6. well lnot for me, if it can run El Capitan… it is not capable of running sierra. The only way to get siera is to change 4,1 to 5,1 using efi update and a software which a developer made. I am using a mac pro 2009. I dont get why apple made it to where the crappy core 2 duos from 2009 can run sierra but Intel Xeons from 2009 which score over 12000 on benchmark tests cant get sierra but the year after me can. Even though the 2009 mac pro and 2010 Mac Pro are basically the same internally and externally just a few upgrades. Mac Pro 2009 is fully capable of it. BUT NO STUPID APPLE MAKES MAC PRO USERS FUROUS!!!!!

  7. why do i seem to be the only one having trouble.

/Volumes/OSX is not a valid volume mount point.
    Malcolms-Pro:~ malcolmmcdowell$

this is the message i get. Please help.
trying to restore a Mac Pro

  8. Hi everyone, I recently updated my Mac mid 2010 El Capitan to Sierra and I haven't been able to use it efficiently so I want to downgrade to El Capitan. Also, I haven't been able to download el Capitan from app store as I receive notification that the OS old. I have been advised to download el Capitan from the net (torrent) and install into bootable drive. How safe is it and how can I go about it? Please I need help. Thanks

  9. For those getting the is "not a valid volume mount point", this means that the name of your formatted USB does not match the command in the terminal.

    sudo /Applications/Install OS X El Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia –volume /Volumes/OSX –applicationpath /Applications/Install OS X El Capitan.app –nointeraction

That code will work only if you rename your flash drive to OSX. If you have a different name, change the command:

    sudo /Applications/Install OS X El Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia –volume /Volumes/___ –applicationpath /Applications/Install OS X El Capitan.app –nointeraction

The blank is where you would enter the name you put for the flash drive. The names must match.

  10. It took me 8 hrs to figure out what I was doing wrong but unlike people that will complain instead I thank you for the guiding us with this video. – Side note- if anyone is still struggling with this issue make sure you have El Capitan installed on your apps and not on your desktop.. other wise you are inputting the wrong command with this code. and make sure you follow step by step what it says here because if you rename the drive something other than OSX it will not work because its also embedded in the code.

  11. Wiped the OS and couldn't download as Apple have removed it from the App Store.
This tutorial was clear and worked even easier than Disk Maker X. Cheers!

  12. download link please ….i mean those words please …can u send me the link here please love your videos you know….also can you please show me where can i download OSX EL New version please

  13. thanks a lot for this video. i got an old imac that was giving me the "temporarily unavailable" issue and your guide totally saved my computer. it's running really well now. thanks!
