  1. I dont usually write comments for videos, but this one deserved it. You did a great job with the tutorial and I just wanted to let you know that it worked perfectly for me.

  2. Thank you! I got confused and thought that when it said it would erase the disk, it would erase everything on my mac! Thanks for helping me understand 🙂

  3. I have tried Parallels and this Virtual Box thanks to your help. In my opinion the performance on all my Macs is not acceptable installing Ubuntu as a Virtual Machine. I could not get it to install on my Mac so I thought this would be a good option. It seems I was wrong. I installed the same version of Ubuntu 16.04 on my PC sharing the hard drive space & it runs flawlessly fast. I can't get this thing to load on my Mac & never get the simple choice of "Install Alongside Mac OSX" option, that I have seen so many others get on YouTube..That option never shows up and the entire manual way of Partitioning is driving me crazy. 😉 I even think running it off the DVD is better than Virtual Machine. I have to say I like the functionality & design of Virtual Box better than Parallels but they both lag and are slow. My Macs are not slow. One is i5 8GB Ram the other Intel Core 2 Duo 3.09 8 GB's Ram. All in all, you did an excellent job on this video and I thank you for sharing it.

  4. It was starting to become really annoying using virtual box to run ubuntu. Watched this vid, and realised that I needed an image, so at first I tried from the file and was still getting no where – until I clicked on the complete download (the grey looking box) and bang! Working a treat. Thanks.

  5. Thanks So Much!! it worked great but for whoever is just about to download this just note that it takes 2 hours to download and 2 to 3 hours to setup so around 5 hours

  6. 5:30 – There is NO EMPTY like you are showing. I have a MAC. When I click on settings…then storage….it has MY DVD listed MATCHITA DVD-R. It does NOT say EMPTY as yours does. What am I doing wrong??
