Blue Screen of death basically occurs when the system malfunctions due to either hardware or software issues. It then prevents the system from turning on normally and instructs you to rectify the problem first. In this tutorial, we will address the different causes of the blue screen of death errors.

Step 1 — Scan for hardware changes

Stop errors are of different kind and can occur because of different reasons. For example, majority of the stop errors occur because the drivers are not updated. For that, you can open up the device manager window and scan for the hardware changes.

Step 2 — Update drivers

If any driver needs an update, this process will automatically install the required driver on your system. After this step, if the blue screen of death doesn’t appear, this means that the error did in fact occur due to the driver updates.

Step 3 — Review windows update history

Sometimes windows updates might not be installed properly and it’s always a good idea to check and view the update history to make sure that all the updates are installed properly.

Step 4 — Check bios settings

If there are any hardware changes that you might have done, the bios settings might be changed automatically, and therefore the changes won’t get registered properly with windows and therefore the blue screen of death might appear.
To resolve that, you can go to the bios setup utility and load the setup defaults. With this option, all the changes that might have been done would be reverted and only the default settings would be loaded.

Step 5 — Use the last good configuration option

If windows is still malfunctioning, you can opt for the Last good configuration option which appears when you press the F8 key while windows is booting up. This option would load the default windows settings, which were present before the error started to occur.
These were the common causes of blue screen of death errors.

  1. Sooo: here's my story I upgraded my GPU to a GTX660, got 2x1TB Seagate Hard drives, and started BSOD'ing when I was playing games and kept GPU under load, though the temps were good, in winter, they dissappeared, and now that it's spring they are back, I suspect it's the PSU, however recently I overclocked my processor, and stress tested it, and it was fine, so I'm very confused about what's happening, and now it is happening when I'm in Chrome, so the PSU, CPU and GPU should have close to no load on them.. Soo, how do I get to the dump file to see the problem?
(CPU and GPU temps always seems fine, sub 85C)

  2. BSoDs can be also caused by poorly written device drivers or malfunctioning hardware, such as faulty memory, power supply issues, overheating of components, or hardware running beyond its specification limits. In the Windows 9x era, incompatible DLLs or bugs in the operating system kernel could also cause BSoDs.

  3. I got my first BSOD from playing Elder Scrolls Online Gold Edition with WIndows 7 on my Alienware m17 r3, it always runs like a train but when i play ESO it sometimes crashes to the BSOD

  4. I got bluescreen while playing fifa 17 .. it started a crash dump and i was scared as sh*t. I have a gaming pc thats have gtx 1080 founders edition so im now scared so much. Im scared to turn on mu computer, what to so now? ;( pls help me

I Got blue Screen While Playing Video
When The Computer Freezes The Audio Is Like
So I Had To Turn Of And On Again

Honestly When I Got Blue Screen For The First Time I Shit My Pants

  7. Reading the comments I've got very uncomfortable. People are afraid of BSOD messages? Like half of them doesn't even know what does it mean, or what is a BSOD – they think it's literally a DEATH to their computers

this shit needs to be educated

  8. I've had my PC for over 2 years now, and had no BSoD whatsoever, until about 5 weeks ago. Got a little scared that something might be failing, but people calmed me down saying it's probably nothing if it doesn't happen again.
Well today it happened again. That's two Blue Screens within 5 weeks from each other. Should I be worried?
    Event viewer says it's Kernel-Power 41(63).
If it keeps happening this rarely and doesn't cause any further issues, I can live with that, but if it's a sign that something serious is about to happen, I'd rather do something about it.

  9. My BSoD restarts my pc after it goes to 100%, I've seen other videos where the PC doesn't load at all, is mine just caused because of program overload? Do I have viruses? or what because I've had it come up 2 times today and I'm a bit nervous because this PC cost $1,000

  10. Help me my dad airdusted my pc and it sprayed liquid now when I play my FPS is very low and now I get the blue screen and I don’t want to tell my dad cause he will yell at my saying wtf did you do!!!!! I just wish I could have an Alienware laptop but we’re poor

  11. please if anyone can help me let me know. I am stuck in a bsod loop where I can never get to my desktop… I tried all the procedures online to get it back however when I try to go into the command box, it says the only drive I have is drive X aka the drive it is on when the command box pops up. when I try to do the steps on there I can get up to X:windowssystem32regback> from there on my computer wont let me acces or save any files on my pc. I'm currently on windows 10 and have no clue what is going on. I honestly just want to knw the issue please somebody help me.
