How to create a MAC OS USB Bootable Drive Simple steps on how to make a USB bootable drive for any Mac OS, whether it’s OS Sierra, El Capitan, or even OS Lion.

SUDO CODE for Terminal (copy and paste):
* Remember to replace the name USBSTICK with the name of your USB drive!

sudo /Applications/Install macOS –volume /Volumes/usbstick –applicationpath /Applications/Install macOS

This USB bootable drive is useful if you ever need erase your hard drive and reinstall.

To boot up into the USB, make sure the laptop/computer is shut down. Then hold down the OPTIONS key. Press power on the laptop. It will then boot up with a menu showing the USB drive to boot into.

J on the Street:: The Command Pating in the Terminal, Whats is FOR???, i just saw another video about the same thing, how to make a Bootable USB, But he did not need to type or paste a command in the Terminal, LOL Yup when it comes to MACS the possibilities are just ENDLESS😱.And how, where can i get Lion OS X, my Mac supposedly Includes Lion OS X, But all that ever pops up is OS X Yosemite when ever i want to Reinstall the OS X again.wonder why i can't ever have the option of choosing, the 2 OS X it came with, they probably LIED like always Apple is Notorious for, Bastards.hey if you have the Link or where i can download it ???

  4. Can I reuse the usb drive again as normal after I erase finish installing the Sierra OS.? Or need to be format again? If not, how can I reverse after installing Sierra OS?

  5. Hey man I need some advice: I bought a MacBook Pro 2011 from someone and I wasn’t able to install the OS. So I took out the hard drive and put in a SSD and I’m having an issue with getting the OS go to the memory stick. When I put in the code it keeps saying”in valid command”
